Hi everyone! If anyone is interested, go checkout HASH’s newest walkthrough Local Competition in Docs! This guide will show you how to create your very own Local Competition Model as well as the type of design flow you might use to create complex models in HASH’s platform. Part 1 (or should I say Phase 1) is accessible to you now where you can create a modified Hotelling Model in a 2D space. Keep an eye out for parts 2 and 3 coming soon.
Local Competition aims to simulate local businesses competing for customers based on location and price. Originally based on the Hotelling model which analyzed the optimal locations of businesses along a one-dimensional line, HASH’s aims to extend this model by incorporating real-life spatial data. You can use this model to predict which location would be the most profitable for a business to open.
